At Ocean Healthcare we focus on not just a young person’s medical needs but also their educational, social and emotional requirements. We support them as they move through their teenage years and onto becoming adults and to achieving greater independence.
We will have regular planning meetings with them to balance their care or mental health needs against their wishes and desire as they grow and explore. Their care plan will be continually adapting as they transition and begin their journey of becoming adults and potentially living independently.
Our experienced team are specialists the in care of adolescents, teenagers and young people which have a huge range of complicated medical or mental health needs.
Care for young people with complex medical needs is the primary responsibility of your local NHS and will most likely receive ‘NHS Continuing Care Package’. Your local authority is also responsible for providing any non-medical care services that a young person needs. This could include equipment for daily living, home care, access to school or education settings, and respite care so that regular carers can have a break.
Ocean Healthcare is a registered supplier to Devon Clinical Commissioning Groups and the NHS for providing complex care services from adolescents to young adult. Our nurse-led care team have over 30 years of experience of caring for children from degenerative and congenital conditions through to spinal cord injuries.
